Sachin sells his Ferrari
The god who sold his Ferrari: Surat man now owns Sachin Tendulkar's ride

Surat: Sachin does not zoom around in his Ferrari any longer. A Surat-based land developer has purchased the car for a hefty amount from the cricket maestro. The sports car has reached Surat and is kept at the builder's personal garage at City-Light road. Even though the new car in town is mostly kept under wraps in the garage, it is the talk of Surat.
The Ferrari has been bought by Jayesh Desai, a well-known land developer of Surat and director of Rajhans Group. Desai and Sachin Tendulkar have been good friends for many years.
Some months back, Desai expressed a desire to purchase Sachin's fiery red Ferrari 360 Modena. After repeated requests, Sachin agreed to part with his favourite vehicle and a week back handed over the keys to Desai.
"I cannot express my feeling after acquiring this car. It's a dream come true. Sachin was not ready to sell it, but after seeing that I was very keen on having it, he decided to accede to a friend's request," Desai said.
Desai is believed to have paid Rs 1.20 crore for the car, which landed in Surat a week back. The new owner has driven it three-four times on the city's roads. To accommodate his new, proud possession, Desai had to renovate his garage.
The Ferrari Modena 360 was gifted to Sachin by champion F1 driver Michael Schumacher in 2002. Schumi rewarded Sachin for scoring 29 Test centuries and equalling the great Don Bradman's record.
Sachin the Master
Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar: Genius, Giant, Gentleman
Nearly 22 years back ,a fresh faced school boy was being hailed as the next big thing in Indian cricket. Would he ever play for India? The critics asked themselves and here he is today, standing head and shoulders above one and all around him. This man might have been the inspiration for many poets and authors but ever wondered what has inspired him to play for 22 long years – Where did he find the urge and solutions to keep himself up and running in this gentleman’s game for so long? Well thats something we might never come to know, for that is a secret-secret of a man named Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar – or i should say “THE GOD OF CRICKET”.
So much has been already said about this man that its hard to inspire yourself to write something special about him. Ask a 10 year old kid and you might well be amazed at the knowledge he will have about Sachin…!
Thats the aura of this man-He is omnipotent and omnipresent. Sachin has always brought with himself, an amazing sporting presence. It is indeed a captain’s nightmare to set field for him – Its as if you close all doors of glory and he will still find a mid-way to success. In other words, I would say he is just unstoppable. A resurgent SRT continues to gift Indians, moments of pride and rejoice. After all,he is the engine on which Team India runs. Isn’t it?
It takes lot of painstaking effort to remain at the summit of success for more than two decades – and thats exactly what Sachin has managed to do. He has been synonymous with the word ”LEGEND” ever since he has taken the field. In a cricket crazy nation like India, it is not easy to bear the burden of stardom along with the hopes of a billion people. And if you are Sachin Tendulkar, well its the hardest job. Because cricket is a defacto non-denominational Religion for Indians. We live and die by the name of it. We cry and celebrate together. Cricketers are demi-gods for us. One good performance, and you will be a star over-night and the very next day you end up getting a duck, people will start raising questions on your abilities!
But Sachin Tendulkar is an exception. For a man who has carried the hopes of an entire nation on his shoulders for over 22 years, this seems to be all too easy. After being at the top for 2 decades, he is still there, like an Energiser bunny. Theres no stopping him-he goes on and on and on……….
They say “WINNERS NEVER RUN OUT OF STRENGTH”. Watching Sachin play, I have always felt that. He has thrashed bowlers of different generations from the same country. But his hunger for runs still remains undiminished. He cherishes every single run he takes as it is quite evident from his running between the wickets. The key to retaining that hunger for runs is in enjoyment of the game. For most youngsters today, the interest seems wane after 10-12 years. But for this man, it grows with every passing year. Sachin is passionate about the game because he loves it deeply – he is obsessed by the game and everything else that surrounds it. There is no secret to SRT’s longevity – he is a man who understands the game pretty well, knows how to pace his life as he does with his innings and most importantly he listens to his body. He plays because his body allows him to and thats a key factor when a player wants to elongate his career.
Times Magazine came out with this brilliant quote dedicated to Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar
“When Sachin Tendulkar traveled to Pakistan to face one of the finest bowling attacks ever assembled in cricket, Michael Schumacher was yet to race a F1 car, Lance Armstrong had never been to the Tour de France, Diego Maradona was still the captain of a world champion Argentina team, Pete Sampras had never won a Grand Slam. When Tendulkar embarked on a glorious career taming Imran and company, Roger Federer was a name unheard of; Lionel Messi was in his nappies, Usain Bolt was an unknown kid in the Jamaican backwaters. The Berlin Wall was still intact, USSR was one big, big country, Dr Manmohan Singh was yet to ‘open’ the Nehruvian economy. It seems while Time was having his toll on every individual on the face of this planet, he excused one man. Time stands frozen in front of Sachin Tendulkar. We have had champions, we have had legends, but we have never had another Sachin Tendulkar and we never will.”
Truly , there never was and there never will be another SACHIN TENDULKAR. He has always made people stand up and take notice of him. Be it Pakistan or be it Australia, everywhere he goes he gets a standing ovation. He brings life to a stand -still. Especially the Aussies – they hardly take an outsider to their hearts but they did it for Sachin. He has been a great ambassador for Indo-Pak unity as well.
After all this marathon tribute to the man, I wonder whether he ever gets tired of scoring runs match after match in city after city. Does he ever feel like its time to hang up the boots? As Krishna Prasad, editor of Outlook magazine righly said,
“If Sachin Tendulkar really is like the rest of us,if he is really one of us,if he really is human, why doesn’t he show us sometimes,so that we can be reassured?”
I would like to end with a quote from BBC sports which goes like this
Source:Sportkeeda.com”Beneath the helmet, under that unruly curly hair, inside the cranium, there is something we don’t know, something beyond scientific measure. Something that allows him to soar, to roam a territory of sport that, forget us, even those who are gifted enough to play alongside him cannot even fathom. When he goes out to bat, people switch on their television sets and switch off their lives.”
